Man Stopped In BMW Had 71 License Suspensions, Suffolk Police Say

The driver of a BMW was arrested after being stopped for a traffic violation in North Amityville, when it was discovered that he had dozens of suspensions on his driver’s license.

An officer from the Suffolk County Police Department stopped local resident Terrance Smith near the intersection of Schleigel Boulevard and Great Neck Road for having cracked and illegal tinted windows at approximately 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Police said that during the stop, further investigation found that Smith was driving with a license that had been suspended 71 times of 13 different dates.

Smith, 37, was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. No return court date has been announced by police.
